Pantone announced their color of the year and it’s Cloud Dancer. What the heck does that mean? It’s white! It’s literally a soft bluish white. How boring is that?

As the new year begins, many of us find ourselves asking what are the new trends? What should we be following and what resolutions am I gonna make to catch those trends?

The crazy thing is we’re bucking the system here. To us the trend is whatever suits your style. Classic is always in. It doesn’t matter what the trends are. Why do you think we still read classic novels? Why do you think Shakespeare is still so freaking cool? It’s because classics stand the test of time.

I believe we’re going to see the return of the classic Bob haircut. We’re going to see classic pixies and untamed hair. I also think we’re gonna continue to see lived-in

-color and highlights that look as if they just appeared. More and more salons are going to push towards gender, neutral pricing. And the consumer is going to really think about where they want to spend their money when they do because let’s face it, it’s a little bumpy out there right now.

So our plan for the new year to challenge ourselves; to learn more so that we can be there for you. Our trend is to reach out to our community and do what we can to be there for our community.

I wish I could say that I was excited for the new year. I look forward to it every time it rolls around, but this year I’m feeling the challenge more and more. We’re gonna greet this year with love and ferocity. In the wise words of Coco Chanel, “Fashion changes, but style endures.”
